The Spring Clean up is on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Volunteers will meet at M 66 and Old State Rd at 10:00 am. Bill Bates is the Chair for this committee. Please contact Bill Bates at his “Swan Lake” phone 231/544-3020.
Please keep in mind that SMLA volunteers do their part for the State of Michigan. The State assigns us a location as close as they can to our area. The State doesn’t sponsor 6 Mile Lake Rd or Miles Rd. We have joined with other groups across Michigan to keep our roadways clean. This is ran through Michigan Department of Transportation, MDOT.
As of right now, we haven’t heard from any volunteers. Please contact Bill Bates at the above number to be a part of this road clean up.
Every year we see the same people volunteering and its time for others to participate. I know we all like to see our beautiful area clean and free of debris, so please volunteer.
I did it last year and I can say, it doesn’t take long, maybe 1 to 1.5 hours of your time. We have all the equipment you need to gather any garbage along side the road.
