This year we\u2019ll be welcoming back some fun<br \/>activities, most notably the silent auction (with proceeds going to support SMLA). Bring<br \/>a \u201ctreasure\u201d from your house that you are ready to part with that someone else might<br \/>enjoy taking home. Sheets will be available to record your bids and the winners will be<br \/>announced after dinner.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>Speaking of dinner, do make and bring your favorite chili recipe or dessert recipe and<br \/>enjoy sampling others\u2019 delicacies. Paper votes will select \u201cFirst Place\u201d in both<br \/>categories, with the cooks winning a free year\u2019s membership in SMLA. Regarding<br \/>memberships, dues ($25) should be paid at the dinner, if you haven\u2019t already done so.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>Another popular activity at the Chili Supper is the 50\/50 raffle, with half going to the<br \/>lucky ticket holder and half going to support SMLA activities.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>New this year is a perennial plant exchange. If you are thinning your gardens, this is the<br \/>perfect time to swap with other SMLA gardeners and increase the beauty of your<br \/>plantings. If you\u2019d like to make a cut flower arrangement to decorate the tables, that<br \/>would be great also.<\/p>\r\n<p>Anyone able to help set up and decorate for the event, please contact Kathryn Bell (cell<br \/>517-425-1390, house 231-544-1040). We\u2019ll meet at the church at 3:30 for an early start<br \/>to the fun and fellowship that the supper always provides. Let Kathryn know if you will<br \/>be bringing chili, dessert, or ?. Drinks are provided by SMLA. (As we\u2019re at a church,<br \/>they\u2019ll be non-alcoholic).<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>Hope to see all of you on Saturday.
