Greetings Members,

Just a quick note to let you know that the south platform loons have one chick born Friday, June 14. Although they stayed on the nest all day we never saw a second loon chick. Once it stops raining, if it ever does, we’ll check the platform and see if there was a second egg or if there is any evidence that a second chick hatched and was lost. Once again, we are asking that everyone watch out for both loon families while they are busy raising their young. Thanks for being proactive and here’s to another successful loon season on Six Mile Lake.

Also, two and a half inches of steady rain has swelled the lake and some docks are floating.
