Hello Members!!
This Saturday June 13th at 10am the Six Mile Lake Association will host a breakfast/brunch to start up the summer season. Location is the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church at the south end of Six Mile Lake Rd. Please plan on coming! Bring a dish to pass and your own table service. The Association supplies coffee and juice. It’s a great time to meet new friends and old (bring them along) and catch up on events over the past very long winter.
At 11am the Antrim County Operator of Dams Leslie Meyers will bring all of us up to date on what happened with the near disaster spring flooding event and next steps to mitigate future flooding events. An independent group in Ellsworth is also working on a plan to raise funds to replace the tube there. If there is a meeting you shouldn’t miss this is the one.
Further news: the SMLA has an active Facebook Group where members can sign up and post, for example, lost and found items from the flooding. You can also be added to the Ladies of the Lake text reminder by contacting me at 231.676.9969 and I will forward your number to Carol Franz who manages both the text message and members’ Facebook Group. Our webmaster, Derrick Hakim, manages our entire website and the public Facebook Page. You will continue to get text messages from me (231.676.9969) on other issues from time to time also.
Please make it a point to attend at least one of the three Six Mile Lake Association meetings this year. This is where we live and work and play and we need all of you if we are to carry on the work of this great Association whose only goal is to make Six Mile Lake and it’s community the best place to live anywhere!
