SAD Hearings and Ladies Breakfast

Dear Members,

The SAD hearings are Monday,  May 1st for South Arm Twp at 5pm at South Arm Twp Hall on M-66 west of East Jordan and Thursday May 4th at 7pm at Echo Twp Hall at the south end of Six Mile Lake Rd. The assessment for property owners in both townships will be reduced to $50 this year which is great news and speaks to both the health of Six Mile Lake and the careful management by PLM and oversight by our members and board. If you want to attend either meeting those are the dates. PLM will be on standby to answer any questions.

Next up is a reminder that the Ladies of the Lake breakfast is on the first Tuesday of every month at 10am at the Front Porch Restaurant in Ellsworth.

The first meeting of the year is a breakfast brunch on Saturday June 10th at 9am at the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church at the south end of Six Mile Lake Rd. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service. The Association provides the coffee. This is always a fun time to reconnect with everyone around the lake after a long cold winter/spring season.

Dues are $25 and can be mailed to Box 421, Central Lake, MI 49622. For those of you who are not getting regular email notifications and are paying through PayPal, you need to check the box allowing PayPal to share your email address with the Six Mile Lake Association. PayPal does not share your email with anyone else and neither does the Six Mile Lake Association.

It’s still freezing here and it looks like the loon platforms will be going in sometime around the first couple weeks in May which is late, but, so is everything else this year due to unseasonably cold weather.

There will be a junk and trash pickup at Echo Twp Hall this year but I don’t see a date posted on the Echo Twp website yet.

Also…IMPORTANT!!! Get those photos of the flooding on Six Mile Lake to emergencymanagement@antrimcounty.org and it doesn’t matter what year, in fact, include as many years worth of flooding as you can. Two of our board members, Linda Vanandel and Ross Maxwell, are very involved with this and have been attending many meetings on behalf of we property owners on Six Mile Lake.

Take care.

Until next time,

Cherie Hogan
