Hello Members,
Just a short note to let you know that the north platform loons have TWO chicks hatched on June 4th!! These are big beautiful babies. Remember that for the first two weeks these babies cannot dive so be on the lookout for the family and keep your distance.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your enthusiasm about the loon program here on Six Mile Lake. We are still accepting donations for banding and we’ll see if Common Coast wildlife biologists are planning anything for this year, however, we still want to build up this fund just to be ready in case they do.
The south platform loons have another ten days or so to go before we’ll know if they will be successful. As soon as I know, you’ll know.
