Just wanted to let those of you who didn’t already know, our father, Donald
Alexander (wife, Jean) passed away on September 6, 2008.

Don and Jean own a home on Miles Road and always loved being at the lake.  Some of their happiest times were spent on Six Mile Lake.  He is greatly missed by his family but we are so happy we have our cottage on the lake to continue his memories with our families.

Every summer I can’t wait to get up there on vacation.  We LOVE it!

All the friends my parents made throughout the years on the lake are so good to my mom (and late father) are so appreciated by myself and my sisters and brother.

Get the sun ready, my daughter, myself and my mom will be there during the week of August 5th!

Lake Watch Program

Monday, July 20th, 2009

I would like to clear up the note from the Antrim Country Sheriff.   He is setting up a Lake Watch Program  for the area lakes something like neighbor hood watch.  He is looking for official observers from all the lakes.  He would ideally like these people to be here most of the summer and at least one every half mile  on each side.  He will train these observers to ID issues on the water.  We are getting busy enough to merit this kind of effort.  We need to have as many people as possible to help with this.  It involves two Wed. night training sessions.  To sign up please call 231-533-8627  ext#2551.  Leave you name and number and say you want to enroll in the Lake Watch Program for Six Mile Lake.

Whatever happened to Bill’s Last Resort?

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

My wife and some friends just spent time this past weekend in a rental cottage on six mile lake.  We were trying to find another place on six mile that we stayed at around 25 years ago!  The name of the cottage was Bill’s Last Resort.

I remember it being on the East side of the Lake, and I thought it was on Miles Road, but not sure.  It might have been further south along the lake.  I do also remember it being north of the old camp that was on the lake.  We are just curious.  We love Six Mile Lake, and feel it is a jewel!

Whatever happened to Bill’s Last Resort?  Still standing?  Likely new owners, and possibly new “terrain”, and new or remodeled building.  I also remember a pond that was on the property between the house and the lake.  It had an A frame with a loft, and a big deck with view to the lake.

Great House or Cottage Cleaning Person

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Hi All,

If anyone is looking for a great house / cottage cleaning person, we have one recently returned to the area who I can highly recommend.   She has done cleaning for a number of people on the lake and I know everyone was universally pleased.

Her name is Becky Clingan and her phone number is (231) 585-6134.   She charges between $12 – $15 per hour, depending on the scope of the work you’d like done.    She is thorough, dependable and trustworthy.     It is difficult to find someone near our area and Becky is the best we’ve found yet!   If you call her, leave a message – she’s very quick about returning calls.

Any questions, feel free to call me at 544-5006.

Regards,

Robin Wottowa
