Fresh Organic veggies

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Just a quick note to let you know our renter  at 5300 Miles Rd. has garden produce for sale.  He plans to pick in the morning and have it at a serve yourself stand every other day depending on the harvest.  Keep checking what he has as new veggies will be coming in all the time.  He has a beautiful organic garden and it is just him.  Help him out as he loves to grow a great garden.  He said he would save items for you if you call and you can get them in the evening 536-7817

Whatever happened to Bill’s Last Resort?

My wife and some friends just spent time this past weekend in a rental cottage on six mile lake.  We were trying to find another place on six mile that we stayed at around 25 years ago!  The name of the cottage was Bill’s Last Resort.

I remember it being on the East side of the Lake, and I thought it was on Miles Road, but not sure.  It might have been further south along the lake.  I do also remember it being north of the old camp that was on the lake.  We are just curious.  We love Six Mile Lake, and feel it is a jewel!

Whatever happened to Bill’s Last Resort?  Still standing?  Likely new owners, and possibly new “terrain”, and new or remodeled building.  I also remember a pond that was on the property between the house and the lake.  It had an A frame with a loft, and a big deck with view to the lake.

High Speed Internet On The Lake

Any news on high speed internet coming to the lake?

Hi Mary – The only high speed internet available on the lake is though Charter Cable.  DSL is currently not available on our side of the lake (Miles Road) and most likely won’t be anytime soon.  There is a distance issue from the AT&T frame center.

To Check For DSL Service, go here:

To Check For Cable Service, go here:

The only other option is Satellite Service, but it’s rather costly and slow.  You can check these providers:

Wild Blue:

DirectTV

Hope This Helps!

Hello Six Mile Lake Association Members!

This will be our future home.  It’s in a very rough state as I’m just beginning to edit the template files.  Please bear with me!

Thanks…Derrick.
