Remembering Donald Alexander & Six Mile Lake Memories

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Just wanted to let those of you who didn’t already know, our father, Donald
Alexander (wife, Jean) passed away on September 6, 2008.

Don and Jean own a home on Miles Road and always loved being at the lake.  Some of their happiest times were spent on Six Mile Lake.  He is greatly missed by his family but we are so happy we have our cottage on the lake to continue his memories with our families.

Every summer I can’t wait to get up there on vacation.  We LOVE it!

All the friends my parents made throughout the years on the lake are so good to my mom (and late father) are so appreciated by myself and my sisters and brother.

Get the sun ready, my daughter, myself and my mom will be there during the week of August 5th!

2009 Weevil Installation Photo Album

The weevil installation has been completed.  Dave Daniels has provided these great photos of the process.

You will see orange markers on the east side of the lake marking the planting of the weevils. If you see green twist ties on weeds near the surface this is where the weevils were attached to milfoil.
Please help protect these areas and help to notify other boaters and users of the lake.
These  weevils will not bite you or your pets.

We will keep you informed of how things are going.  Thank YOU in advance for your protection of these areas.

The pictures show the planting and markers

First Dock on the lake

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

What may be the first dock in the water in 2009 was put out on Easter Sunday by Tom Kupovits.  We still had ice floating on the lake.  Hurry up spring. Water still is way too high for most docks.

Tapawingo Closes It’s Doors

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

In case you didn’t hear about it, Tapawingo has closed down.  Even if you didn’t go to this restaurant, it’s sad to see what this economy is doing to good, small, local businesses.
